I am 20 years old, and I am currently studying International Politics, Economics, and Law in Milan. I was born in Verona and later moved to San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy with my family where I am originally from.
I have always traveled with them all over Europe since I was a kid, but only started to travel solo when I was 15. My first experience by myself was in the UK and since then, everything changed.
When I was 17, I left my home country to do the most incredible experience of my life, an exchange year in Michigan, USA. I attended Oakridge High School and graduated there, but decided to go back home and obtain my Italian diploma as well. This opportunity in the States has drastically changed my perception of things and of the world. Being far away from my family made me become more independent and mature in the long-run.
I am interested in politics, history, and international relations. I love to travel, discover new cultures and meet new people from all over the world. I believe traveling gives you the opportunity to be more open-minded and a better person overall. Even when there is a difficult situation, I try to stay positive and not give up. I hope I can share more about the benefits of being an exchange student and traveling solo in a foreign country to those thinking of taking the leap and embracing change in their life.
